Casino cookies

Almost 2 years ago now, we moved to Michigan. It was a temporary move, just for a year. Anyone who has ever moved can tell you that it’s not easy. After you get past the moving truck and the boxes, you have to ‘settle in’. And a large part of settling in is getting the kids situated into a new school. This becomes particularly difficult when you don’t know anyone. How do you choose a school that’s right for YOUR kids during a 3 day trip to the area??

We ended up enrolling the boys in Kalamazoo Country Day School.  Although our time in Michigan was short, I know that the boys will never forget the year that they spent at KCDS.

Every year, they have an auction to raise money for the school. Last year, they did a casino themed auction and it went so well that they decided to stick with the same theme this year. These are the cookies that I made for them last year. Casino cookies - 2012

And so – when they asked me if I’d be willing to do cookies for them again – I needed to come up with a different design! This is what I came up with for this year. I drew in the background with a food writer and the piped on the rest. :) KCDS casino cookies

And a shot of my counter as I was getting ready to send them out…

Yeah, that’s a lot of cookies!!

Best of luck to KCDS and their fundraiser!
